Do you want to play against the World no. 20 Pentala Harikrishna? Now’s your chance to play a top grandmaster on chess24!

The Indian no. 2 is fresh from his 7th place in the St. Louis Rapid & Blitz and recently released his new Chessable course French Toast: How Harikrishna fries 1… e6

Now the World no. 20 is ready to play chess24 users for a good cause.

On Sunday September 27th at 13.00 CEST Harikrishna will be taking on players on chess24 in a simul with 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move. His clock will run when it’s his move, as it would in person, which allows a slight possibility for the Indian to be flagged!

The simul is open for anyone who purchases a €100 ticket in our shop.

50% of proceeds will go to support Kiva, the non-profit organization that raised more than $50,000 in a partnership during the final of the Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour.

Harikrishna is not the first top grandmaster to play a simul on chess24 recently. Last week his compatriot and 5-time World Champion Viswanathan Anand played a 9-board simul and scored 6.5 points after 6 wins, 2 losses and one draw.

Ding Liren did slightly better in his simul on September 1st scoring 6 out of 8, with 5 wins, 2 draws and just 1 loss.

Magnus Carlsen, the World Champion himself, already has plenty of experience in this format and played a simul against Premium members in August scoring 24.5/28.

So the question is, will Harikrishna perform better?
